Kickball Program

Service Description

Join our fun, safe afterschool kickball program designed for elementary students to learn the fundamentals of the game while building teamwork, confidence, and physical fitness. Sessions focus on age-appropriate instruction, progressive skill-building, and plenty of game play. What students will learn Basic rules and objectives: game flow, innings, outs, scoring, and fair play. Field layout and positions: bases, pitcher’s mound, fielders’ responsibilities. Kicking technique: proper stance, approach, foot placement, and striking the ball for control and distance. Pitching and receiving: underhand rolls, timing, and catching for both pitchers and kickers. Base running: leaving the base, running the bases safely, tagging up, and sliding basics (if taught). Throwing and catching: proper grip, overhand and underhand throws, tracking and catching fly and ground balls. Fielding fundamentals: ground ball mechanics, footwork, glove positioning, and relay throws. Team strategy: when to run, when to hold, positioning, and simple defensive plays. Sportsmanship and teamwork: communication, encouragement, fair play, and conflict resolution. Safety and warm-ups: dynamic warm-ups, stretching, hydration, and equipment basics (shoes, clothing). Game management: keeping score, following umpire/coach signals, and rotating positions so everyone plays. Participants will practice through drills, partner activities, and friendly matches that emphasize learning, inclusion, and fun. By the end of the program, students will understand the core elements of kickball and feel confident participating in games.
